What the children say about The Recess Project...

It brought more excitement to all of the kids at our school. More people were having more fun.
It made a big difference. Before, we had nothing to do. We couldn’t play soccer and basketball. We always had a rule of Walk-And-Talk recess. But this allowed us to play.
It gave people things to do. Before this came around, people didn’t have much to do... they would just sit on the wall and hang around. But now they have something to do and look forward to.
It brought us together and more active than usual.
It made recess more fun.
It's just too fun to explain!

What the administrators say...

I love how involved and engaged our students are and the social skills that they pick up through the wide variety of activities. The project also reaches a wide variety of kids and includes them in a very positive way.
The leaders are good role models for the little kids because they look up to the older kids.
We had far fewer conflicts between students, less students claimed to be bored at recess, students acquired new skills socially and physically. They were more engaged.
The kids are so much nicer to each other. It's like some kind of magic fell over the playground.
"I love the Zones. So simple and effective."
"It all works. It all falls into place after a few months of change - there is this crystallizing moment - and then it works. It becomes the new normal."
The younger children spontaneously copy the Junior Recess Leaders, who have been excellent role models.
